James Walton

Coach & Founder

I am the founder of NewMeta coaching business. Prior to starting NewMeta, I was an international athlete and won several national titles.

Having achieved great success in my athletic career, trained with elite athletes in high performance environments and received coaching from some of the best coaches in the world, I bring a wealth of knowledge and experience. I have been coaching for over 7 years and I have helped 100's of people reach their endurance sport goals!

With an MSc in Sport and Exercise Physiology, I bring a deep understanding of the science behind triathlon performance. Currently, I am completing my PhD on elite triathlon training load and response.

My coaching philosophy: I believe in tailoring training strategies to your unique strengths, weaknesses, and goals. Consistency is key. Together, we'll build a training regimen that not only drives results but also ensures the longevity of your triathlon journey. I'm also a firm advocate of athlete education. As we work together, I'll empower you with the knowledge to understand the reasoning behind each aspect of your training in order for you to achieve your goals.

With a degree in Sports and Exercise Science, currently working as a sport scientist and pursuing a Master's in Sports and Exercise Nutrition, my coaching is built upon a deep understanding of the science underpinning triathlon performance.

My coaching philosophy centres around building a tailored training plan that capitalises on your strengths, addresses any areas of improvement, and aligns with your goals. I firmly believe that consistency is the cornerstone of achievement. An integral part of my coaching is focused on educating athletes. Throughout our time together, I'll empower you with the knowledge needed to understand the reasoning behind your training routine, helping you get the most out of our coaching service.
